#77 The Burden of Ideas

I finally shared the Happy Human Studio app publicly through a video on my birthday. That was like a gift from my past self to my current self. The moment it went live, I felt the responsibility. And now that I’m sharing it more on every podcast outro? The weight is even heavier. Because now I have to update it, maintain it, keep it alive for all the Happy Humans downloading it. Go get it if you haven’t... it’s on the App Store and Play Store.
Episode #77 of the Happy Human podcast is me working through that thought. I talk about the burden of creating an idea and how launching an idea always comes with work. And like always, I connect a few ideas. I bring up how some cultures weep when a child is born because they know life comes with pain. Same with ideas. Same with projects. You don’t just launch and walk away... nope! You have to show up, or risk public failure! The stakes are high for creatives (for idea people)... make sure the launch is not the end goal for you.
I also talk about how the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson shaped some of my thinking. Like how he wanted the inside of the computer to be as beautiful as the outside. That stuck with me when I read it or how he created his uniform to avoid having to decide what to wear. I don’t like putting out crappy products, even if it’s my first time doing something. I wanted the app to feel clean, easy to use, and ready for you. I talk a little about the logistics of launching an app, the social media algorithms, and how I’m trying to build outside of that system. I want direct connection with the people following my work. Not just reach through an algorithm. I still think word of mouth works. It's slower but if you create something worth sharing, they'll share it.
If that sounds like something you’re navigating too, take a listen to Happy Human on all podcast platforms, leave a comment and a review and share it.
